Sticky Toffee Porridge

This gorgeous warming porridge recipe is a must for any fans of sticky toffee pudding – it combines all those wonderful flavours yet remains a healthy start to the day. Try omitting the mixed spice if the little ones find the flavour too unfamiliar.

Serves 2 children or 1 adult

Put 50g porridge oats and two pitted and chopped medjool dates into a pan.

Add 250-300ml milk of your choice depending on how runny you like your porridge (coconut milk is particularly delicious in this dish)

Heat gently , stirring regularly and then allow to simmer for a few minutes until creamy.

Stir in a pinch of mixed spice, pour into a bowl and top with chopped toasted nuts and a drizzle of maple syrup
